Welcome!
The Howard County Human Resource Society (HoCoHRS) is a dynamic and growing group of HR professionals – now in its 6th year. I am privileged to serve as President for 2007.
What attracted me to this group were the strength of its programs, the many opportunities to network with colleagues and professional contacts – in a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. These brought advantages to me in my “day job” as Vice President of Human Resources for Humanim here in Columbia. I come away each month with new knowledge, insight, or just re-energized to explore new methods to advance in my chosen profession.
HoCoHRS has a dedicated and enthusiastic Board of Directors that I am proud to be a part of. The Board – and our many dedicated and much-appreciated volunteers – have developed forward-thinking ideas to help others in the profession address the topics of today – as well as the challenges we will face in the not-too-distant future
We couldn’t do any of what we do without our superior Speakers and the Sponsors who make the strength of HoCoHRS possible. I want to thank them for their commitment, which enables us to offer such excellent programs and events.
Our ever-growing membership – which we hope you are or will become a part of – keeps us on-track by offering suggestions, speaking their minds, and by getting involved. If you would like to become more involved in volunteerism with us, please see any of our Board members to explore how you can help. By all means, let us hear from you on what issues are important to your professional life. We can offer information and assistance.
I urge you – especially if you are a member of National SHRM and unaffiliated with a local chapter – to be a guest at one of our meetings. You won’t be disappointed. Please review the other sections of our informative website. Watch our Calendar of Events for monthly meetings and programs, development opportunities, and other events geared to “Serve the Professional”.
Sincerely,
Bob Causer, SPHR
