Join us at our monthly meetings (Columbia, MD). They are typically held the third Thursday of each month. Directions to our monthly meetings can be found here. The only time we cancel our HoCo HRS meetings is when Howard Community College closes due to bad weather.

HoCoHRS is excited to have Michael Piro of the US Dept of Labor present at the meeting on February 18th.  Christine Walters will present the legislative update in April.  Michael will provide information on the latest COBRA extension and answer questions so employers are comfortable with their understanding and adherence.  He will also address the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.  It is not often that we have the opportunity to host a staff member of the US Dept of Labor.  Mark your calendar and pass this information to other HR Professionals in HowardCounty.

The Professional Outplacement Assistance Center (POAC), is a service of the Maryland Job Service. POAC provides assistance to individuals who are in the professional, technical, and managerial occupations. It features a state-of-the-art computer lab with internet access, a variety of written publications and resource materials, individualized career guidance, an audio-visual library, free faxing, copying and telephone services in a modern office building.
